Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

SEO (Search Engine Optimization), is the process of optimizing a website, web pages, and content to earn traffic from various search results in search engines. This can be executed by site owners using specific keywords to bring attention to their pages. For example, a blog post about dogs’ appearances being cared and maintained for could use the keyword ‘dog grooming’ or ‘pet grooming’. This keyword would be used in the post’s title, meta description, slug, and much more.

SEO is characterized by increased brand awareness, boosted credibility, generated sales, and cost-effectiveness. The more a brand regularly pops up in search results, the more people are conscious of it. This directly improves brand perception, enabling potential customers to see the business in a different light and steadily have a connection with the brand. Alongside brand awareness comes credibility. Ranking high on search engines increases a business’ trustworthiness as users are more likely to trust a site that appears at the top of search results. And when a brand is reliable, sales are generated. Products are bound to be sold when there are more people attracted to a site, resultantly increasing conversion rates. SEO also lowers advertising costs. A good SEO strategy effectively helps a company rank on search results without having to spend a lot of money on adverts. It allows attention to be re-directed to other marketing strategies.

As PIM stores all product-related information, product descriptions can be optimized with keywords, enabling potential customers to easily and swiftly find a product.
