Case Study: tectake

Discover how tectake slashed marketplace integration time from months to just 15 days by unifying 200+ catalogs across 80 channels with Akeneo Activation.

We had too many tools, and product information was scattered everywhere. It wasn’t always clear what data was correct, so we spent a lot of time just trying to verify and align information across teams.

Liz Viana Head of Marketplaces

Challenges

  • Product data was scattered across multiple tools and network drives, with no clear single source of truth
  • Teams spent significant time verifying data accuracy and managing inconsistent, outdated information
  • A patchwork of integration methods made marketplace expansion slow and complex
  • Repetitive attribute mapping across channels created inefficiencies and increased risk of errors
  • Inconsistent product data across regions impacted both operational efficiency and customer experience

Benefits

  • Reduced time-to-market for product launches by 30–40%
  • Cut marketplace integration time from months to as little as 15 days
  • Decreased data quality issues by approximately 80%
  • Delivered 1.6 million unique product experiences in a single month across 24 locales

About the Company

tectake is a fast-growing European eCommerce company offering a wide range of products across categories such as home, garden, leisure, and DIY. With a strong presence across multiple online marketplaces and its own webshop, tectake serves customers in numerous countries and languages, requiring a high level of consistency and scalability in product information.

Operating across 24 locales and managing a catalog of more than 10,000 SKUs, tectake’s business depends on delivering accurate, compelling, and localized product experiences across every touchpoint. As the company expanded its marketplace footprint, the need for a more structured and scalable approach to product information management became critical.

Instead of mapping the same attributes hundreds of times for every channel, we now do it just once. That shift has completely changed how efficiently we can scale to new marketplaces.

The Challenge: Scaling Without Structure

Before implementing Akeneo, tectake’s product data management was highly fragmented. Product information was spread across multiple tools and network drives, creating a “patchwork” system that made it difficult to maintain consistency and accuracy. Teams often didn’t know whether the data they were using was up to date, leading to frequent internal follow-ups and delays.

“We had too many tools. It was complicated for our daily work.”

This lack of structure became even more problematic as tectake expanded into new marketplaces. Each new channel required manual setup and integration, often involving repeated attribute mapping across different systems. In some cases, the same attributes had to be mapped hundreds of times for different endpoints, creating a time-consuming and error-prone process.

In addition, inconsistent product descriptions across regions made it difficult to deliver a unified brand experience. Combined with the operational strain of managing integrations and data quality manually, tectake needed a solution that could bring order to its product data while enabling scalable growth.

We’ve moved from manual processes and constant data checks to delivering over 1.6 million product experiences in a single month, consistently across 24 locales. What used to slow us down is now a real competitive advantage.

The Solution: Planting the Seeds for Growth

tectake implemented Akeneo Product Cloud, including PIM, Activation, and Shared Catalogs, along with several App Store integrations, to centralize and streamline its product information management and syndication processes.

By establishing Akeneo as a single source of truth, tectake gained a centralized platform to manage, enrich, and govern product data. A dedicated Product Owner role ensures that data remains accurate, complete, and aligned with marketplace requirements, while structured product families enforce consistency across the catalog.

Akeneo Activation played a critical role in transforming tectake’s marketplace strategy. All existing integrations, previously spread across multiple systems, were consolidated into a single platform. With the introduction of Shared Catalogs, the team eliminated repetitive mapping work and dramatically simplified channel onboarding.

“Instead of mapping the same attributes 200 times, we do it once.”

Additional automation within Akeneo has reduced manual maintenance, including product status updates and marketplace-specific attributes such as Amazon ASINs, with further automation planned for logistics data.

Integration with Bynder DAM ensures that product assets are consistently managed and distributed across all channels, eliminating manual asset handling.

The Result: Harvesting Efficiency and Growth

Since implementing Akeneo, tectake has significantly improved both operational efficiency and its ability to scale across marketplaces. By centralizing product data and automating key workflows, the company has eliminated many of the manual processes that previously slowed down operations.

Marketplace integrations that once took months can now be completed in as little as 15 days, enabling tectake to rapidly expand into new channels. Time-to-market for product launches has decreased by 30–40%, allowing the business to respond faster to seasonal demand and competitive opportunities.

At the same time, centralized attribute management has improved data quality, reducing errors by approximately 80% and saving 15–20 hours per week previously spent on manual corrections. Teams can now focus on strategic initiatives such as launching new marketplaces like Cdiscount and eBay instead of maintaining existing integrations.

Today, tectake operates at scale with confidence, managing over 10,000 SKUs across 24 locales and delivering consistent, high-quality product experiences across all touchpoints. In a single month, the company successfully delivered 1.6 million unique product experiences, demonstrating its ability to combine operational efficiency with high-volume execution.

By transforming its product data processes into a high-velocity activation ecosystem, tectake has turned technical complexity into a competitive advantage, powering continued growth across European eCommerce.

Congratulations to tectake for being named the 2026 CEE PX Champion!
