Akeneo Signs the Parity Pact, Continuing its Commitment to Gender Equality, Diversity, and General Inclusion in the Workplace.

Boston, June 28, 2022 – Akeneo, the global leader in product experience management (PXM) solutions and product information management (PIM), has strenghten its commitment to equal treatment of men and women in tech by signing the Parity Pact recently launched by La French Tech. The company joins almost seventy Next40 and French Tech 120 companies that have already signed this pact.

Launched on May 31, 2022 by La French Tech, the Parity Pact supports commitments by French startups to sustain gender equality in the tech ecosystem. Akeneo and other Next40 and French Tech 120 companies are consequently united to define the initial actions to be taken.

A company which first and foremost promotes know-how

“At Akeneo, skills and achievements are taken into account at the time of hiring or career development,” said Estelle de Gombert, Human Resources Director at Akeneo. “Akeneo has been historically committed to these fundamental values and has been participating for over a year in the Parental Act, which offers one-month of fully-paid leave to the second parent. Other initiatives have also been launched to ensure gender equity, as the company is committed to promoting its employees’ skills and rewarding their performance, without any gender distinction.”

Additionally, Akeneo was awarded a score of 91/100 on the gender equality index in 2021, calculated based on its France-based employees and in compliance with the French Act of September 5, 2018. This index measures four key points:

  • Gender pay gap;
  • Gender gap in individual salary increases;
  • Rate of female employees awarded a salary increase in the year after return from maternity leave;
  • Parity in the 10 highest-paying positions in the company.

Parity Pact: ambitions and commitment

Akeneo is fully aligned with the internal transformation approach sought by the French Tech with the Parity Pact. It encourages companies to proactively combat gender inequality, and identifies all best practices to help them work towards complete equality.

Here are the first 5 commitments of the Parity Pact:

  • At least 20% of the company board should be women by 2025, then 40% by 2028;
  • Offer complex training courses to managers on the challenges of diversity and combating discrimination and harassment by the end of 2022;
  • Ensure complete gender equality in job descriptions published by the company;
  • Set up a committee of representatives who may be asked to speak on behalf of the company;
  • Propose special support for employees on return from parental leave (by the end of 2022).

This Pact is not set in stone! It will gradually be improved and built upon with new commitments and will form the cornerstone for companies which, like Akeneo, treat all employees equally.
