Schréder partnered with Akeneo to co-create Akeneo Digital Showroom, transforming highly complex product data into a visual, sales-ready experience that empowers commercial teams across more than 60 countries to sell faster, improve customer experiences, and drive growth.
Our products require highly structured information management. Akeneo Digital Showroom allows our sales teams to easily access reliable and up-to-date product information, helping them better support customers in their projects.
Schréder is a global leader in outdoor lighting solutions, designing highly configurable luminaires and smart lighting systems for cities, infrastructure, sports, and architectural environments. Operating in more than 60 countries, Schréder manages highly technical product information where each product can include millions of possible combinations based on lighting output, power supply, control systems, and technical options.
Before implementing Akeneo, Schréder faced growing challenges managing and distributing complex product information across its global organization.
The company relied on an aging internal system alongside unsupported SharePoint-based documentation, making it difficult to maintain accurate and consistent product data. At the same time, Schréder needed to manage highly configurable products across 14 languages while supporting multiple teams involved in product information management, including R&D, product design, local marketing, and sales.
As product complexity increased, Schréder needed a way to centralize information, establish a single trusted source of product data, and ensure consistency across all systems and countries.
When evaluating new solutions, Schréder considered both a customized Pimcore implementation and Akeneo SaaS. Akeneo was ultimately selected for its scalability, flexibility, product vision, and collaborative approach.
Schréder initially launched the project with Akeneo PIM and Shared Catalogs through a proof of concept. However, the richness of technical product information and the complexity of configurable products quickly highlighted the need for a more advanced and visual product experience solution tailored to commercial teams.
Schréder joined the beta program for Akeneo Digital Showroom and became one of the first companies to actively co-create the solution alongside Akeneo’s product teams.
Designed to transform PIM data into a visual experience inspired by modern eCommerce interfaces, Digital Showroom gives sales teams instant access to centralized, reliable, and visually structured product information from any device.
