Available since the 1.3 edition, notifications can be really useful to keep you updated about bulk actions or validation workflow (in the enterprise edition).
You get notified if everyting goes fine about your bulk actions, if it goes wrong or if the action works partially.
For the validation workflow, you will know when a new proposal is ready to be reviewed or if your proposal has been approved.
